Photos and Videos as Social Currency Online (09/13/2012) A survey by the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project finds women are more likely than men to use Pinterest, while Instagram and Tumblr attract equal shares of men and women. Overall:

  • 12% of online adults use Pinterest,
  • 12% Instagram,
  • 5% Tumblr; 66% FB,
  • 20% LinkedIn, and
  • 16% Twitter.

Smartphone Ownership (09/11/2012) More American adults own smartphones than own feature phones, according to PEW Internet.  So, who owns smartphones?

  • 66% of those ages 18-29 own smartphones, and
  • 68% of those in households earning $75,000.
