Google+ provides a new and innovative platform to reach beyond traditional audiences, and thanks to a new Federal-friendly terms of service agreement it’s now available to all federal agencies to use.
On Wednesday, DigitalG0v U hosted a webinar, Using Google+ in Government, where representatives from Google+ and NASA provided insights into it’s use and NASA’s experience. The webinar covered lots of useful information including features that have direct application for government and ways the tool can bring you closer to your audience.
Graham Bonner of Google+ kicked off the webinar beginning with a general introduction and then moved on explain how to:
- Create your Google+ page,
- Build connections,
- Grow your audience, and
- Measure to gain insights
Jason Townsend of NASA followed up with insights from NASA’s Google+ roll out that began several months ago. He discussed how NASA is making an impact with Google+ is making an impact by giving the public access to the agency’s subject matter experts, showcasing topics and putting a human face on the organization.
