The video app Vine is now available for federal agencies to consider for their mobile social strategies, as the latest tool with a federal-friendly Terms of Service.
Vine is a free mobile app that allows users to record six second videos with their iPhones and iPads and then easily share it on Twitter and other social media platforms. Like Twitter, which limits messages to 140 characters, Vine keeps the process simple and concise while providing an opportunity to engage in a compelling way.
Government knows that citizens want official information available anytime, anywhere and on any device, and Vine can help agencies engage through mobile video sharing and feedback. We encourage agencies to share the Vine terms of service with their attorneys, and explore whether this new tool can help meet their strategic goals.
Vine is now listed on HowTo.gov among other tools and apps with fed-friendly terms of service.
